M13 Hercules Cluster

This globular cluster was first discovered in 1714 by Edmond Halley, the same Halley who who discovered the famous comet by the same name. M13 is a cluster located in the constellation of Hercules and lies approx 23,000 light years away. There are as many as a 1/2 million stars located in this grouping. It is a beautiful site in medium to large telescopes revealing many many of it's stars.
